Welcome to the WAMA website!

Dear Aviation Professional

Thank you for visiting the Wisconsin Airport Management Association website. WAMA provides and shares vital industry information with airport managers and other aviation professionals throughout the state. WAMA also provides an excellent opportunity to network with fellow aviation professionals and gain an understanding of mutual concerns affecting aviation in Wisconsin through conferences, meetings, and correspondence.

The goals of WAMA include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • To promote safety, economic value, and public benefit at ALL of the airports in the State of Wisconsin.
  • To educate the aviation community with information that may be helpful to the future of aviation.
  • To educate local and regional governments of the economic value of aviation within Wisconsin.
  • To seek and exchange information between other aviation professionals who may have experiences and insights that can benefit each other.
  • To investigate, study, discuss, recommend, and promote improvement in the aviation system to airport operators, Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics, FAA and legislators.
  • To develop working cooperation between Government, business, and aviation entities.
  • To promote the education and participation of young people in aviation.

Membership in WAMA is open to anyone involved and/or interested in aviation in Wisconsin. Hopefully you will consider downloading a membership application to join the  WAMA and receive the full benefits of being a member of the only airport centric organization in the state. Your airports participation is critical to overcoming legislative and industry wide challenges.

Though it is undoubtedly a passion embedded deep inside of us, aviation in Wisconsin is also a vital economic engine that helps to drive our great state. According to the State Bureau of Aeronautics “2002 Economic Significance of the Aviation Industry in Wisconsin”, the Wisconsin Aviation Industry provides a total economic impact of $2.8 billion, provides for over $1 billion in personal income and is responsible for more than 40,000 jobs.

One of the best places to discuss and promote the value of the Wisconsin Aviation Industry is the Wisconsin Aviation Conference. Over the years the conference has proven to be an excellent forum to bring forward and discuss various aviation topics of interest to all facets of the Wisconsin aviation community. Participants in the annual conference range from private pilots and corporate flight departments, airport management and commissioners from general aviation and air carrier airports, fixed base operators to consultants, Bureau of Aeronautics officials, and other aviation service providers. We hope you will join us for the 60th Annual Wisconsin Aviation Conference to be held May 11-13, 2015 in La Crosse.

The Wisconsin Aviation Conference is co-sponsored by:

  • The Wisconsin Aviation Trades Association (WATA)
  • The Wisconsin Business Aviation Association (WBAA)
  • Many consultants and suppliers of goods and services for aviation in the state
  • And of course, WAMA.

Whether it is proposed burdensome regulatory changes, new taxes on the system, or airline consolidation, there are undoubtedly many challenging days ahead for Aviation in Wisconsin. Please consider joining our ranks and become a voice to be heard!

Feel free to contact us here should you have any questions or concerns.
